REGIONAL COLLABORATIVE NOTES

The Regional Collaborative for Excellence in Science Teaching is an organization that brings Science teachers and University Professionals together in order to share ideas so that the youth in the State of Texas might have a better opportunity to learn science.  This collaboration of teachers, professors, and even University of North Texas graduate students has helped give teachers a better foundation of ideas and concepts to work from.  This foundation helps them in development of exercises and teaching techniques to give students a better understanding of more advanced scientific concepts at a younger age.  The younger that students start to become familiar with some of these more advanced ideas the better they will do later in their education, for example at University level.  One of the most feared courses at the University level is the core science requirement.  If these ideas were implanted in students mind at a young age perhaps these courses would not cause the fear and anxiety they currently do.  This is the ultimate goal of the Regional Collaborative for Excellence in Science Teaching.
